Warehouse Wi-Fi Implementation PDF Print E-mail

Alonso Consulting finished a networking assignment that consisted in testing a 130,000 square foot warehouse for wireless signal propagation. After completing the testing, we recommended Cisco 1240 Wireless Access points with Cisco 3213 Omni-Directional Antennas. Since many of the access points needed to be installed at great dsistances that exceeded the Ethernet run distance of about 300 feet, we deployed Black Box Ethernet Extenders (LB300A). These use a VDSL modem technology that is similar to the technology that ISPs use to deply DSL to distant locations. It extends Ethernet signals to 800 feet. This project involved testing, recommending the technology, purchasing the equipment, and implementing and delivering a solution that the client is satisfied with. The wireless signals are going to be used for hand held devices that will track inventory throughout the warehouse.

This project shows the breadth of our expertise. Please contact us if you have a similar need.
